Lots about composting these days but since Halloween is over I wanted to remind everybody that the pumpkin they carved should be composted!
Melons are a little bit tricky to compost probably because of their water content. Those old pumpkins will stink for a bit if you just throw them in your compost pile or bin so it helps to cut your Jack-O-Lantern into little pieces. Maybe you can make a video of it an put it on Youtube with some great effects.
But seriously, cut it up into about 2 inch pieces and instead of just dumping it into a pile work it into your compost or shovel a little bit of dirt over top of it to cover it and that'll keep it from being all smelly.

X-Mas holidays are coming and along the Christmas trees. At the end of the season, I see everywhere lots of trees thrown by the street, outside of houses waiting to be pick up by the garbage truck or trees left outside of the city or abandoned lots. Same as composting the Jack-O-Lantern, we can chop up the tree into smaller pieces and add it to the compost heap.
