Madagascar Struggles to be the Conservation Model

The country of Madagascar is the host to many species that are only found in Madagascar. Without environmental protection and the education of both local population and those who invest in Madagascar, many of those species face extinction.

In the video, TIME Magazine's Bryan Walsh reports on Madagascar's struggles to protect the environment and Russell Mittermeier, President of Conservation International, who is working in Madagascar, explains the problems that Madagascar has with deforestation, erosion and political instability.
