Europe Takes Green Responsibility With Their Supergrid

I was reading an article on CNN.com the other day on Europe and their idea of creating a supergrid.

The supergrid addresses some very important concerns when dealing with renewable green energy sources. The usual concerns are: What happens when the sun doesn't shine? or What happens when the wind isn't blowing?

The concerns that people have need to be addressed, and they shouldn't be taken lightly. No sun to a solar array is about the same as having no coal to fire the generator.

Europe wants to address these issues with their supergrid, and it looks like a good idea.

Europe's supergrid would connect all the green energy producing installations. This connection of energy sources would, theoretically, allow them to switch between installations or use mixed sources of energy to overcome times when one installation doesn't produce as much as expected.

While the supergrid is still many years from being finished, it's good forethought on their part. If more nations start taking responsibility and the same stance on green, renewable energy we'll all be living in a better world.
